Exigence
The idea of exigence was initially difficult for me to grasp. But I’ve grown to see it as the driving force behind my writing. I frequently confused the word with purpose at the start of the course, thinking they were equivalent. Although the two are closely connected, I better comprehended the distinction when I began to see the exigence as something that selects the author, whereas the author chooses the aim of writing. While this remark may not be correct, it has personally assisted me in distinguishing the two rhetorical parts.
