CLO #5
Engage in genre analysis and multimodal composing to explore effective writing across disciplinary contexts and beyond
While I found genre analyses time-consuming and discouraging, they were frequently required for me to become as familiar with a genre as possible before writing it. The wide range of genres necessitated a closer look to see the distinctions in genre customs. I still needed help with multimodal composition, particularly for the PSA assignment, because I thought I could communicate the content better in essay style rather than reducing it into something that could be given through graphics. My exposure to many genres significantly boosted my critical thinking and thesis formulation. Peer input was constructive in honing my genre-specific writing abilities. My ability in effective communication across disciplines is evidenced by projects in which I implemented my improved skills.
